1. one可代替前面提到过的人或物的单数形式，也可用做不定代词表示“一个人”“一个”ones可代替前面的复数名词；one’s是one的所有格形式，反身代词是oneself. 例：One should be kind to his friends.一个人应该对他的朋友友好。
2. other可以做形容词用，后面可跟单数或复数名词，意为“其他的，别的 ”。 例：He bought other dictionary besides these ones.除了这些字典，他又买了一本。
3. other也可用做代词，与冠词the 连用构成the other,表示两个或两类人、物中的“另一个，另一类”。与one 搭配构成 “one…,the other…”句型。
例：Lucy has two aunts, one is a doctor, the other is a driver. 露西有两个姑姑，一个是医生，一个是司机。
others 是代词other的复数形式，泛指“另外的人或物，”常与some搭配构成“some…，others…”的句型。others单独做主语或宾语时后面不可再加名词、数词。 例：Some went to the park, others went skating. 一些人去了公园，其他的去滑冰了。
4. the others表示特指某范围内的“其他的人或物”。
例：Li Ping and John have come back, but the others in the class aren’t here yet. 李平和约翰已回来了，但班里其他的人还都不在这儿。
5. another做形容词或代词用，指多个中的“再一个”或“另一个”，后接可数名词单数形式或数词+名词。
例：Can you see another bird in the tree?在树上你还能看到另一只鸟吗？
（四）复合不定代词
something, anything, nothing, everything, some body, anybody, nobody, everybody, someone, anyone, none, everyone 相当于名词，不能做定语。 它们的用法与some, any的用法相同。
例：I have something to tell you.我有些事情要告诉你。 Do you have anything to eat?你有吃的东西吗？
1. 当主句中的主语是指人的复合不定代词如 everybody, nobody, anyone等时，其反意疑问句的主语通常用代词they;当主句中的主语是指物的复合不定代词如everything, anything, something, nothing等时，其反意疑问句的主语通常用代词。
例：Everybody has gone there, haven’t they?每个人都已去了那儿，对不对？
2. 当形容词修饰复合不定代词something, everything, anything, nothing, everyone, anyone等时，要放在复合不定代词后面。
例：There is nothing wrong with my legs.我的腿没什么毛病。

1. what, who, which等后面加单词ever，表示强调，以表达说话人的各种感情。 例：Whatever you say, I won’t go there!不管你说什么，我都不会去那儿。 Whoever did you see there?你在那儿到底看到谁了？ 2. what可用来指人的职业。
例：What does your mother do?=What is your mother? 你妈妈是做什么的？
3. what引导感叹句，后接名词或名词词组。 例：What beautiful flowers(they are)! 这些花多么漂亮啊！
4. what与for连用表示“为什么”； what与like连用表示“怎么样”。
例：What do you go there for? 你为什么去那儿？
