根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。

From time to time, even the most productive professionals procrastinate(拖延). When your tendency to procrastinate is starting to make your overall quality of work and life suffer, 31 . Here’s what Forbes Coaches Council members recommend doing to stop racing the clock.

32

When you don’t feel motivated, take the smallest step possible toward your goal. After taking that step, you’re more likely to continue taking more steps toward that goal. Instead of telling yourself to work out for an hour, say you’ll go for 10 minutes.

Give yourself a hard deadline, and then schedule it

The best way to overcome a natural tendency to procrastinate is to create a hard deadline for yourself and then put it on the calendar. 33 . Then perform it the same way you would if your boss were waiting for you to complete the task.

Understand the underlying reasons you’re procrastinating

34 . Notice your thoughts, feelings, behaviors and the situation when you feel like procrastinating. Write these down. Often perfectionism, which we may experience as anxiety, is caused by the tendency to put off action. Once you understand your pattern, you can be responsible for yourself in a positive and self-compassionate (自我同情的) way.

Give yourself a reward for each task you complete

Make a list of things you need to do and do the one you don’t want to do first. 35 (piece of candy, a few minutes on social media, etc.). Then do something on your list that you want to do and continue making changes from there. This makes your tasks less depressing.

A. Take the tiniest step possible

B. Identity a positive outcome from your action C. Then give yourself a little reward for doing it

D. find a way to make overcoming procrastination interesting

E. it’s time to do a reality check and break yourself of the habit F. Treat the deadline the same as if your boss created it

英语期中考试答案

听力原稿: (Text 1)

M: Hi, Mom. Could you check if I left my report in my room? W: No, I didn’t find it, Ben. Your dad drove you to school this morning. You should call him. (Text2)

M: This photo was taken at Jane’s twenty-first party. That was a great party. W: Oh, yes, it impressed me most. It’s a shame—nobody has such fun parties any more. (Text3)

M: Do you have any plans for the holiday this year?

W: The children want to go cycling but their father wants to go windsurfing. And I’d like to go walking. But we all want to go together so we’ve decided to let the children choose this year. (Text4)

M: Can you tell me how much a ticket is for Saturday’s performance of Macbeth? W: The front seats and the circle are the most expensive at £16.50. the middle seats cost £14.50 and the back three rows cost £12.50, but the view isn’t so good. All seats are £10 for students.

M: I’ll have one in the middle please. I’m not a student. (Text5)

W: It’s a bit crowded, isn’t it…worse than a football match! Can you see well enough from here?

M: It doesn’t matter—so long as I can hear and get down the important points of what the teacher says.

W: I’m going to the library after this. I want to get this report finished so that I can go to the cinema. (Text6)

W: How was your holiday? No accidents this year, I hope.

M: Well, actually Molly hurt her finger playing tennis and had to have it X-rayed. Fortunately, it wasn’t broken, but she had a bid bandage on it for the rest of the holiday. At least it wasn’t as bad as last year when Tom fell off his bike and broke his arm.

W: You are really unlucky! The worst problem we’ve ever had on holiday is insect bites. There are too many insects in the mountains.

M: Ah well, we still had a great time. That’s the main thing. (Text7)

W: Larry, we have a new graphic designer starting next month and we’ll need to set her up with a laptop and extra monitor. Can you place orders for those? M: Sure. You know our supplier has raised their prices, right? W: Really?

M: Right. Well, our budget per work is $ 1,000 maximum. So let’s order the system with the largest screen that falls within that price.

M: OK. I’ll take a look at the process again and place the order. (Text8)

W: Welcome back, Eric!

M: Thanks, Wendy! Now that I’m back, I’m thinking of throwing a huge party for all our friends on Saturday.

W: But I’m not sure that’s a good idea. I know all our friends will be busy. M: Really?

W: Yes, Tom is going camping with his family and Jody is going to London in the morning for a wedding.

M: What about Nick and Greg? W: Nick bought a basketball ticket for a game that evening and Greg has an important football match in the afternoon. His coach won’t let his miss it.
