Owl city isn’t a place. It’s a band,but a band with only one member named Adam Young. The 29-year -old American singer and songwriter rose to global fame in 2009 with just one dreamy and happy song, Fireflies, which paints a picture of “getting 1,000 bugs from 10,000 lightning bugs(虫子）”. Even after he went on to college, it remained a place where he could work out the ideas that had been in his head all day during his schoolwork and his job with Coca-cola. He spent two years packing and loading trucks in their storehouses.
In the summer of 2007, Young completed the recording of several tracks. Adopting the name Owl City, he uploaded his music to the social networking site MySpace, and the response was unbelievable. One thing led to another and he was offered a deal.
Owl City’s songs have always had a lot of imagery(意象）in them, and his first full-length album Ocean Eyes has good examples.
