A poor girl was selling matches(火柴) in the street on Christmas Eve. She was very hungry and cold but she couldn’t return home. She didn’t sell any match , her stepmother would be angry.
It was very cold. The girl felt so cold and hungry that she stopped in front of a beautiful house. She sat down at the foot of the wall. She wanted to be warmer so she ignited (点燃) a match.
