Things my father teaches me that will help advance my career
We spend years learning the skills helping us find jobs. The only problem is that our formal education doesn¡¯t teach us about achieving career success. 36 He teaches me the knowledge that helps me advance my career.
1. 37 Dad comes from a family of miners. He decided education was going to be his escape route. This allowed him to break the cycle of coal mining. Following his example, I went to university.
2. Treat everyone like they¡¯re important.
Dad always treats everyone with respect. 38 He always says, ¡°Remember no matter how successful you become, you still put your trousers on one leg at a time, which means ¡®Just like everyone else¡¯¡±.
3. Do the tough thing when it matters most.
Dad is a sports fan, and he¡¯s most impressed by the players who get the job done when going gets tough. Those who are truly the best do their best when the going is the toughest. 39 It is this advice that makes me volunteer for the tough projects, those that no one else wants to do.
4. Come in quietly, do a great job, and leave loudly.
Dad always believes it is better to shout about what you¡¯ve done. 40 There¡¯s a fine line between arrogance (×Ô¸º) and confidence and using this advice always helps me stay on the right side of that line.
A. That¡¯s what will make you stand out. B. There are never easy decisions to make. C. If you do the right thing, you will sleep well. D. Don¡¯t let your history determine your future.
E. He doesn¡¯t suggest shouting about what you¡¯re going to do.
F. It¡¯s in this area that dad has a huge impact on my development. G. He never treats people badly just because they are beneath him. µÚÈý²¿·Ö Ó¢Óï֪ʶÔËÓ㨹²Á½½Ú£¬Âú·Ö45·Ö£©

As part of my university course, it is compulsory that we spend a year studying or working abroad, which is why I am in the beautiful Spanish region of La Rioja for the year. It¡¯s a tough life I know. I have 41 enjoyed exploring what the region has to offer and it is a particularly pretty area as the vineyards (ÆÏÌÑÔ°) 42 very attractive scenery. I don¡¯t even mind my early morning commutes (³¤Í¾Éϰà) to work because I can watch the sunrise 43 the striking landscape.
However, I have always wanted to use this year to be able to 44 around Spain in order to 45 and learn more about the other regions and cities in this fascinating country. So far I have made 46 to Madrid, Bilbao, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Salamanca and Sevilla.
What is interesting is that a lot of my friends who are still studying in the UK have asked me 47 I am able to afford all of this travel. The truth is that if you do not choose luxury 48 or the fastest route to your 49 , it is fairly easy to travel around Spain on a 50 budget. I usually stay in hostels (ÕдýËù) or with friends and 51 choose to travel by bus as it is 52 than going by train, even though that may take me longer. 53 , my trips are not usually very luxurious but I am happy because I am able to 54 new areas and meet new people.
Additionally, I make 55 so that I am able to 56 my travel costs. For example, the € 30 shirt which I loved last week in my favourite shop had to be put back down because that € 30 will pay for a return 57 ticket to Madrid. I therefore choose to travel 58 do other things.
If you really want to do something, you find a way to make it happen and that is why I am able to travel around so much. I am very 59 that I have this opportunity and I intend to 60 it. Next stop, Cadiz!

It was the beginning of a new term. As a new teacher in that school, I didn¡¯t know any of the students. A little girl was standing at the gate of the classroom. She looked very shy.
I walked up to her and asked why she stood there. But she said nothing. Hardly had I asked her again 61 a boy shouted, ¡°She is from Grade Four, an 62 (awful) bad student in her grade.¡± I looked at the little girl, who didn¡¯t seem to be the smart kind. After a moment¡¯s reflection, I became aware 63 the reason why her teacher had asked her to stay in Grade Three. I took her hand. 64 (lead) into the classroom, she was seated at the front of the classroom.
I later learned that her patents died in a car accident. She learned very slowly. I gave her respect and never looked down upon her as I know everybody wishes to be looked up to. I helped
her set a number of small and big 65 (target) and often set aside some time to help her after school. 66 (encourage) by me often made her become more and more confident.
I said to her, ¡°Based on my fair assessment, so far some progress 67 (make) by you but I would rather you 68 (achieve) more in the following days.¡± At the end of the term, she seemed to have forgotten all her sadness. She was not one of the best students when she left that school, but at least, she was not that shy and sad little girl any longer.
In the following years, it was on Thanksgiving Day 69 she would send me a card. Three days ago, I received a call from her and she asked me if I could attend her wedding ceremony. I answered that I hoped so because I wanted to see her in person. Everyone deserves respect and everyone can be happy! Showing respect for others can be so 70 (benefit) to both ourselves and others.

It was March 8th, Women¡¯s Day. I decided to do something for my mom and give her a surprise.
Immediately after school, I went to the supermarket, when I bought plenty of vegetables, fish and meat. As soon as I arrived home, I started to prepare the dinner for Mom. It was the first time that I had cooked something on my own. Not knowing the exactly process to cook, I read some recipes first. Keep what I had learned in mind, I got down with cooking. Almost an hour later, three simple but delicious dishes were ready on the table.
Since Mom couldn¡¯t get home until thirty minutes later, I started to do some cleaning. It was not difficult for me. Mopping thoroughly, the floor was quite clean. No sooner had everything been ready Mom came back. I couldn¡¯t wait to show what I had been done for her. A big smile
