“Chinese dream”, put forth by Chinese President Xi Jinping, is to build a moderately prosperous society and realize national rejuvenation.

In China, the Chinese Dream stirs hopes and sets expectations; internationally, it provokes questions and elicits concerns. President Xi Jinping's overarching vision of the Chinese Dream has become a grand driver of China's continuing reform and development.

The Chinese Dream differs from the American Dream in that it expresses China's collective aspirations - \in Chinese history by embracing the personal dreams of individual Chinese people for attaining happy, healthy, abundant and productive lives.

That the entire world derives material benefits from the Chinese Dream is apparent in a global economy. Higher standards of living mean greater consumption of goods and services in China, which works to create jobs and prosperity in a multiplier effect worldwide.

Western anxiety is rooted in the fear that for China to fulfill the Chinese Dream, China will become more assertive, more aggressive and more expansionist in foreign affairs, especially when dealing with smaller neighbors.

China's leaders avow \The recent plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) promised reforms necessary to pave the way for the realization of Chinese dream. China's society is extremely complex compared to the past, so a comprehensive approach to reform is required. the Chinese dream cannot be achieved without reform.

The meaning of Chinese dream is wide ranging, with six key components required to make the dream real: a development model based on efficiency and institutional capacity; ecological urbanization; fair distribution of the benefits of economic development; political reform; reduction of governmental interference in the market; and social stability.

The agenda includes difficult areas, such as state-owned enterprises and land reform, which demonstrates that China is trying to move forward. The result is a blueprint for development, though not a guarantee of success.

The Chinese dream needed new ideas in the economy, politics, culture, society and the environment.

In 2013 the Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping began promoting the phrase as a slogan. Xi has described the dream as \prosperity, construction of a better society and military strengthening.\

Chinese Dream is “the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.” Xi’s Chinese Dream is described as achieving the “Two 100s”: the material goal of China becoming a “moderately well-off society” by 2021, the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party, and the modernization goal of China becoming a fully developed nation by about 2049, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic.

In May 2013, Xi Jinping called upon young people \dare to dream, work assiduously to fulfill the dreams and contribute to the revitalization of the nation.\the Party and the government to facilitate favorable conditions for their career development. Xi told young people to \the glorious youth, strive with pioneer spirit and contribute their wisdom and energy to the realization of the Chinese dream.\

According to Robert Lawrence Kuhn, the Chinese Dream has four parts: Strong China (economically, politically, diplomatically, scientifically, militarily); Civilized China (equity and fairness, rich culture, high morals); Harmonious China (amity among social classes); Beautiful China (healthy environment, low pollution).

The concept of Chinese Dream stresses the importance of entrepreneurial spirit. It also glorifies a generation of self-made men and women in post-reform China such as those rural immigrants who moved to the urban centers and achieved magnificent improvement in terms of their living standards and social life. Chinese Dream can be interpreted as the collective consciousness of Chinese people during the era of social transformation and economic progress. As an aspect of political thought in contemporary China, the emergence of Chinese Dream indicates a diversion of political ideology from egalitarianism to a relatively more liberal individualist approach. It is worth noting that the concept is still based on collectivism rather than individualism for it sees the subject of Chinese Dream as the people of China as a whole instead of specific individual hero/heroine. Sustainable development

The China Dream has been defined as sustainable development. Pollution and food safety are popular concerns in China. Cities are frequently covered by smog and the country's rivers are polluted with industrial waste. China's rising middle class is expected to increase by 500 million people by 2025 and will continue to put a strain on the country's dwindling resources. The Chinese Dream of sustainability can be achieved through the promotion of green technologies and the reduction of widespread conspicuous consumption. China's high growth has caused widespread environmental damage, and without environmental reforms, the deterioration could threaten the legitimacy of the Communist Party. The Chinese Dream is a dream of a prosperous lifestyle reconciled with a sustainable lifestyle. National renewal

The Chinese Dream has been viewed as a call for China's rising international influence. Xi Jinping refers to the dream as a form of national rejuvenation. Young Chinese are envious of America's cultural influence and hope that China could one day rival the US as a cultural exporter. Members of Chinese military support China's military development, opining that the \of a great revival of the Chinese people\Individual dreams

Many Chinese have interpreted the Chinese dream as the pursuit of individual dreams. The Chinese Dream is defined according to an individual's personal aspirations and desires, which may lead to \Qiushi, the Chinese Dream is not about individual glory, but about collective effort. Economic and political reform

Some government officials and activists view the Chinese Dream as a need for economic and political reform. Sustaining China's economic growth requires economic reform encompassing urbanization, the reduction of government bureaucracy, and weakening the power of special interests. Chinese liberals have defined the Chinese Dream as a dream of constitutionalism. Premier Li Keqiang has said that \will wade into the water. This is because we have no alternative. Reform concerns the destiny of our country and the future of our nation.\
