1 Warm-up questions(15 minutes)
1 What goes around the world but stays in a corner?
2 I have holes in my top and bottom, my left and right , and in the middle. But I still hold water. What am I? 3 Give me food, and I will live; give me water, and I will die. What am I?
4 You use a knife to slice my head and weep beside me when I am dead. What am I? 5 What gets wetter as it dries?
Answers
1. A stamp. (a postage stamp is tuck in the right-hand corner of a letter and then the letter travels far.) 2. A sponge. ( a bath/cleaning sponge holes/ retains water)
3. A fire. (you feed a fire with wood, coal etc and put it out with water)
4. An onion. (many people's eyes water when the peel an onion. this riddle also rhymes) 5. A towel. ( the towel gets wet as it dries its user)

Janet Oh, nothing much. well, I'm just doing this quiz here in the newspaper. Mark Le's have a look then.
Janet Here It's called, 'How much do you know about memory?' I've just done it. Do you want to have a go? Mark Ok, might as well. I'm not busy.
Janet Right. Look, I'll read the statements. Then you have to answer 'true' or 'false'. ready? Mark Yeah.
Janet Ok. physical exercise improves your memory. True or false? Mark True, I suppose. It sounds like the right answer.
Janet You're right, exercise does improve your memory. Next statement: 30 per cent of people have a visual memory.
