Recently our city, Xi’an, is often blanketed in heavy smog, which has brought much inconvenience to our transportation and badly affected our daily life. The heavy haze weather has caused traffic jams and even serious traffic accidents. What’s worse, some people are suffering from symptoms related to smog, such as bad coughs, throat hurts and even lung cancers.
As citizens of our city, we students have responsibility to protect our environment. If possible, we should advise our parents and friends to take advantage of public transport instead of driving private cars. Meanwhile, planting more trees is a good way to purify the polluted air. Of course, prevention measures are vital when we are exposed to the smog weather, for example, wearing anti-smog masks to school and reducing outdoor activities. Only by raising everyone’s environmental awareness can we have a clear blue sky!
I sincerely hope that all the students can work hand in hand to help create clean and beautiful living surroundings.
