Read the rhymes. 教师复备内容 Step 1 Revision Show some sentences and get students to read them and translate them. Step 2 Practice Find more words and read them. Step 3 Presentation 1. Get some students to read the words underlined and make others talk about whether they read these words right and wrong. 2. Tell them the reason why some students read the words incorrectly due to stress in words. Get students to follow the teacher or the tape. 3. Work in pairs to talk about how to stress the words in Part A correctly. Then let each pair choose one student to read the words. Step 5 Group work Listen to the tape, and work in pairs how to read the stress syllables, and then ask students to read the words correctly, especially the stress syllables. Step 6 Chant Get students to read the rhymes after the teachers. Don’t be late again One, two, three, four, Come in and close the door. Five, six, seven, eight, It‘s time for class, but you are late. Nine, ten, nine, ten, Don‘t be late again. Mice I think mice are rather nice. Their tails are long, their faces small. They haven‘t any chins at all.

But I think mice are nice. Step 7 Practice. 1. Show the words in Part B, first let some students read alone, afterwards get them to listen to the tape and find out the mistakes. Then ask students to follow the tape recording. 2. Let some groups show their pronunciations to the class. Add points to the ones who read correctly. Step 8 Homework. 1. Practise the pronunciation 2. What place does Stephen like best? Step 2. Presentation 1. Free talk with the students about their homes using the following questions Does your home look like those in other countries? What‘s your dream like? 2. Get the students to go over the questionnaire and ask and answer questions in it in groups of four 3. Get them to complete the questionnaire with their own information 4. Get some students to report their partners‘ homes according the questionnaire Step 3. Reading 1. Get the students to read Simon‘s article and answer the following questions 1). Where is Simon‘s dream home? 2). What‘s around his dream home? 3). How many floors does his dream home have? 4). What‘s on the ground floor? 5). What‘s on the second floor? 6).
