9. Change subsystem state at MSC or MSS side (NHC).

The value of the parameter subsystem is BSSAP in ETSI and RSAP in ANSI.

Creating the speech channels

1. Create a circuit group (RCC).

Note that the circuit group name must have the same name as the one created for MSC. In addition the circuit group SPC must be the same peer entity (e.g. MSC/MSS) with which the BSC is carrying 3GPP 48.008 BSSAP signalling.

Parameter direction Explanation To activate Reversed Hunting: OUT. If you do not want to activate Reversed Hunting: IN. line signalling DUMMY, AINA0, AINA1, AIIN0, AIIN1, DSS01. 2. Add circuits to the circuit group (RCA).

If more speech circuits are needed they must be added to the previously created circuit group.

Note that one to six (ETSI) or one to seven (ANSI) transcoder PCMs can be used towards the MSC if the BSC is equipped with the GSWB. The amount of PCMs and TSLs depends on channel types: 8 Kbit/s (HR), 16 Kbit/s, 32 Kbit/s (HS2), 64 Kbit/s (HS4, through connected signalling channels). The same transcoder unit can have PCMs of different types, and the channels can be of a multimode type.

Change the state of the speech circuits (CEC).

Creating and activating the Gb interface when frame relay is used

1. If necessary, create an ET unit (WTU).

Creating a new ET unit is only needed if there is no room for the Gb interface in the existing ETs.

2. Create the ET plug-in unit (WTP).

3. Connect the Gb interface ET to the BCSU (WUC).

4. Change the state of the ET to WO-EX (USC). ZUSC:ET,:;

5. Create the frame relay bearer channel (FUC).

6. Check the creation (FUI).

7. If necessary, modify the bearer channel signalling parameters (FNS). For more information on the command parameters, see Frame Relay Parameter Handling (FN).

Default values of the parameters are recommended.

8. Create the network service virtual connection (NS-VC) (FXC).

Note that the configuration of the NSEI and NS-VCIs has to be in line with the SGSN configuration.

9. Unlock the channel(s) (FXS).
