Ⅰ.语法知识

1.(2013·天津卷)The water supply has been cut off temporarily because the workers ________ one of the main pipes.

A. had repaired C. repaired

B. have repaired D. are repairing

答案与解析 D 句意:水供应因工人们正维护一个主要管道被临时中断。由句意知句子应用进行时态,故D项正确。

2.(2013·山东卷)— Oh no! We're too late. The train ________. — That's OK. We'll catch the next train to London. A. was leaving C. has left

B. had left D. has been leaving

答案与解析 C 句意:——噢不!我们太晚了。火车已经离开了。——没什么。我们将乘下一列去伦敦的火车。根据语境可知火车已经离去,故用现在完成时。

3.(2013·湖南卷)“What do you want to be?” asked Mrs. Crawford. “Oh, I ________ president,” said the boy, with a smile.

答案与解析 D 句意:克劳弗德夫人问“你想成为什么?”小男孩笑着说:“噢,我要成为总统”。指的是小男孩将来成为总统。故用一般将来时。

答案与解析 C 上句问的是过去发生的情况,回答说“他在和同班同学踢足球时摔断了腿”,是讲过去某时发生了某事,所以用一般过去时,选C项。

答案与解析 B 这是一个并列句, and前面的分句使用了一般过去时,说“我到家时很累”, and后面的分句说“我就直接上床睡觉了”; and“然后”,表述了其后的动作。都是对过去情况的陈述。所以空处填一般过去时。

Ⅱ.单句语法填空

6.They don't know what is going to happen when the project ________ (finish). 答案与解析 is finished 在时间、条件、让步状语从句中,常用一般现在时代替一般将来时。

— I ________ (stand) outside in the cold for over an hour waiting for a bus. 答案与解析 was standing 由语境可知, stand这一动作是在过去的over an hour这一时间段内持续进行的动作,应用过去进行时。

答案与解析 had planned 上句用的是一般过去时,根据答语中的but可知,由于开销太大,答话者没有按原计划去法国,而是去九寨沟了。用过去完成时表示“过去的过去”。

答案与解析 will have gone 由上句可知是今天下午四点的事,是将来的情况,答语用将来完成时表示今天下午四点之前将会发生的事。与将来完成时连用的时间状语有before+将来时间或by+将来时间。答语中的long before then是将来完成时的标志性时间状语。

答案与解析 is being decorated 由right now一词可知,办公楼正在被装修,用现在进行时。office building与decorate之间存在被动关系,应用被动语态。

Yesterday I was returning from Boston by bus. My wife was planning to leave the work to __21__ me up from the bus station. I called her to say not to bother. I would just __22__ the local bus to her.
