Remarks 3)Grammar: Master the use of How questions and What questions . Teaching Procedures Step1 Lead -in 一.Warming up (5mins.) Learn the new words: weather,rain,snow,winter,summer,vacation, Message,sunny,cloudy,windy,snowy,hot,dry,warm,skate 二. Lead in new knowledge Lead-in: look and say Remarks 1. The teacher can show some pictures of weather and say:It’s windy ;Then ask the students:How’s the weather in that picture?... 2. Repeat the words(pay attention the pronunciation) 3. Ss look at the picture in 1a. Then read the words and phrases. Let Ss match the weather with the words. Then Check the answers with the class together. (10-12mins ): 1. Presentation Show the picture in 1a: Ask Ss to talk about the weather : —Hi!How’s the weather in Beijing? —It’s sunny. 2.Group work Then let students ask and answer the questions each other. *New words: weather,rain,snow,winter,summer,vacation,sunny,cloudy,windy,snowy,hot,dry,warm 3. Listening 1) T: Listen and write these city names in the boxes above. 2) Check the answers. 4. Pair work Ask the Ss to practice the conversations in 1c with a partner. Then make their own conversations. 5. Listening 1)Work on 2a; T: Now, look at the pictures on P38, listen to the four conversations. Just listen. (Play the recording for the first time, students only listen carefully.) Then, listen to the recording again, and circle the clubs you hear. Last,Check the answers with the class. 2) Work on 2b; Check the answers with the Ss. 6. Learn to describe what you are doing 1)Talk about the people with a partner. Eg: T: — What’s Uncle Joe doing? S1: — He’s playing basketball. T: — What’s Aunt Sally doing? S2:—She’s cooking in the kitchen. 2) Ss work in pairs to practice asking and answering about what they are doing. 3) Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. 7. Role-play 1)Ask&answer Ask Ss to look at the picture in 2d. Then Ss read the dialogue by themselves and try to find out the answers to these questions. ① What is Steve doing? ② What is Rick’s brother doing? Ss read the conversation by themselves and find the answers to the questions. Then check the answers. 2)Explain Explain something that Ss can't understand. 3)Read aloud Let Ss read after the teacher or play the recording and let Ss read after the recording. 4)pair work Ss work in pairs to act out the conversation. 5) Role play Ask some pairs come to the front of the classroom. They try to act out the conversation. See which group is the best. 8.Practice and group discussion (7-8mins): 1)Now look at the picture in 2d. Let students read the dialogue with your partner. 2)Ask Ss to consolidate the key phrases in group. Step3 Summary Summary ( 10mins ) Ask students to review the structure sentences: How’s the weather? /It’s raining./ It’s sunny. How is it going?/It’s great. What are you/they doing? I’m/They’re playing basketball in the park. What is he /she doing? He/She is studying at his friend’s home. Harvest and experience: Ask Ss to summarize what you have learned . And write them down on your books. Homework 1.Remember the new words and expressions after class. 2. Recite the conversation in 2d after class. 3. Make ten sentences about describing the weather and what someone is doing. 4. Try to introduce the abilities of your family members to your friend orally. BlackUnit7 It’s raining!
