1.It moved at high speed…它以非常快的速度运动

Move at high speed 意为“以非常快的速度移动或运动”，而at the speed of 意为“以……的速度”。如： The car is moving at high speed.汽车正以非常快的速度行驶着。 She ran at the speed of 10 meters a second.她以每秒10米得速度奔跑。 类似的短语还有：at low speed(以低速)，at full speed(以全速) 2.ride n.骑马，乘坐，乘车 5minute’s ride 五分钟的路程

1)at the end of用于表示具体事物或场所的场合，它也可以用来表示比喻意。 at the end of 后边可以跟时间和地点名词，表示“在......末\如:

at the end of this month 在这个月末,at the end of last month ,at the end of next month ,at the end of the road 在路的尽头等

The school is situated at the end of the street．该校位于这条街的尽头。 We'll have an exam in English at the end of January．一月底我们要参加英语考试。They were at the end of their patience．他们忍无可忍。

He is at the end of his wits．他智穷才尽，束手无策。

2)by the end of用于表示时间的场合，往往含有“不迟于”的意味。 by the end of 是“到......末”的意思，后边跟不同的时间会有不同的含义和用法。

A 跟将来的时间，就用一般将来时，如By the end of next month，I will finish reading this book.(到下个月末，我将读完这本书）。

B 跟现在的时间，就用现在完成时，如By the end of this week ,I have written two books .(到这个星期末，我已经写了两本书了）

C 跟过去的时间，用过去完成时By the end of last month ,I had planted thousands of trees.(到上个月末，我已经种了数千棵树了）

3)in the end的涵义是“终于”、“最后”，其义相当于at last。例：I'm sure everything will turn out satisfactory in the end．我确信，最后一切都会令人满意的。In the end things will mend．船到桥头自会直。

拓展: at an end,在一端in the end,最后，终于（与at last ,finally相近）by the end of 到...为止（常与完成时态连用）
