Good afternoon, dear teachers. It’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. My lecture material is PEP, Grade 6, Unit 1 Read and Write.
This passage aims to guide Ss comprehend the content of this passage and master different forms of comparative degree. So before leaning, Ss will review comparative degree by talking about the chaging seasons.
Question1 Choose a title for the story.
This question aims to test the Ss’ general understanding of this passage. I will guide Ss to read the passage 3 times fastly, and underline the key words about “shadow”. There are three words: his shadow, my shadow, your shadow, they all refer to “the little duck’s shadow”, so we choose “A”.
Question 2 Read the story again and finish the dialogue.
This question aims to test the Ss’ ability of finding keypoints and the correct forms of comparative degree.
To solve this question, I will guide the Ss to read the passage in detail. I will also extend the forms of comparative degree plus comparative degree, which refers to “越来越……”。
To get a better understanding, I will guide Ss to role-play the passage. Then I will guide Ss to read the questions and underline key sentences.
Then we will know the answers. Question 3 Think and discuss
Do you agree with Old Tree? If you don’t agree, please give your answer.
This question aims to help Ss understand the natural phenomenon and exercise Ss’ expressing ability. Firstly Ss will find the opinions of the Old Tree. Then I will divide Ss in groups and talk about it. Ss will share their conclusions. I will use the model to help Ss understand and let Ss observe the changes of their own shadows after class.
That’s all! Thanks for your listening!
