一、课程的性质、目的与任务:

本课程是英语专业本科高年级学生的专业必修课。本课程的目的在于使学生对英国文学形成发展全貌及其主要内涵有一个大致了解：通过阅读具有代表性的重点作品，理解作品的内容，学会分析作品的艺术特色，掌握正确评价文学作品的标准和方法，提高文学欣赏水平及其文学批评能力；通过了解英国文学创作的社会背景和文学思潮及其他们之间的相互关系来把握文学作品的文化内涵，提高对英国文化的认知能力；与语言教学相结合，增强学生语言表达能力。 二、课程的基本内容：

三、课程的教学要求：

通过本课程学习，使学生对英国文学的形成发展的全貌及其主要内涵有一个大致了解：通过阅读具有代表性的重点作品，提高学生的文学鉴赏能力。鼓励学生多做课

外阅读，通过文学作品，提高学生对英国文化的认知能力并增强学生的语言表达能力。

四、课程学时分配：

根据本科教师教育专业教学计划安排，本课程共32学时，每周2学时。各章具体教学内容及学时分配如下：

五、课程习题要求：

本课程的习题主要包括两个目的，一是巩固每次课的知识要点，二是为下次课的学习进行必要的知识和思维的准备。在形式上主要包括两种类型，一是针对教材上的相关知识点进行必要的复习和巩固，二是要有一些开放式的题目，以拓宽视野，启发思维，达到更好的学习效果。
