21. With over 2.4 millon visitors every year,Cinque Terre is one of the most-visited regions (6分)in Italy. Cinque Terre is truly special. The five candy-colored fishing villages of Riomaggiore,Manarola,Comiglia,Vemazza, and Monterosso al Mare are built into cliffs over the clean and brightly-shining
Ligurian Sea. Whether you're visiting the region for a few days or a few weeks, these are the experiences you should add to your trip pleasure.
★Take a scenic hike.
It's easy to visit each of the attractive villages on foot. The most popular hike is the coastal path Sentiero Azzuro. It links all five villages and offers extremely beautiful scenery of the sea, architecture and vineyards(葡萄园). It takes about six hours to go across, with short breaks, but most people are going to stop in the villages for food and swimming.
★Eat seafood in a cone(锥形).
Dessert lovers might think that Italian ice-cream is the best thing to be served in a cone but make room for seafood cones as well. Thanks to its coastal location, Cinque Terre is full of seafood restaurants.
★Get on a boat.
If the weather cooperates, take the time to get out on the water. The villages look very beautiful from a boat. The cheapest and easiest way is to jump on the public ferry from one of the villages to the next, but these boats are often crowded. It's far more relaxing to take a private cruise, which departs from the docks in Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vemazza, and Monterosso al Mare.
★Take the train.
Cinque Terre's train system is one of the most scenic in Europe. The high -speed train runs through each of the five villages every 20 minutes or so. And the whole line is directly on the coast, offering lovely views of the Ligurian Sea and rocky cliffs.
1、What is special about the five candy -colored fishing villages? A.Their special location. C.Their delicious foods.
B.Their long history. D.Their friendly villagers.
2、What is the favorite food for the hikers in the five villages? A.Italian noodles C.Italian wines.
B.Italian ice-cream. D.Seafood cones.
3、What is the best way to enjoy the beautiful scenery and delicious food? A.Taking a private ferry to the villages. B.Walking with short breaks on the coast. C.Taking a scenic hike along the coastal path. D.Taking the train running through the villages.
22.(8分)Mention the word “coding” and the first image that comes to mind is a complicated algorithm(运算法则)that has no relationship to the real world. It is,therefore,no wonder that most kids avoid learning this skill that is becoming increasingly important in today's world. Now,thanks to a small
robot, even kids as young as five, will be demanding program.Root,a robot, can be accessed using an iPad.It has been designed to teach coding to kids at various levels. For beginners or young children,Root is less about coding but more about problem-solving.
Kids can construct a “what if” situation by moving iconsaround on the tablet and observing the (图标)consequences of their action instantly. This simple “cause and effect” logic can be used to teach the robot to “drive” along a vertical dry-erase whiteboard and quickly draw with a dry-erase marker.Root can also be instructed to move around the floor, draw patterns, and avoid barriers.
As students get more comfortable with the concept, they can download commands, meaning that Root can be told to draw a race track on a whiteboard, and then multiple Root robots can be instructed to race each other.Other fun options include programming Root to go faster when driving over the color green and coming to a stop upon sensing the color red. That's just the beginning of the possibilities—Root can also be taught to flee when it detects danger, which in this case is the beam from a flashlight, and even play “Angry Birds” on a whiteboard using real-world physics.Since multiple Roots can be used at the same time, the robot is the perfect classroom tool to introduce coding to young kids.
Raphael believes that this novel approach to coding will excite great interest because unlike the traditional method,Root makes coding fun for even the youngest of students.Unfortunately, the
robot, successfully tested by kids in the laboratory,is not yet available for schools. The researchers estimate that Root will be sold for about $200, making it fairly affordable for anyone that wishes to learn how to code.
1、Why are kids afraid to learn to code according to the author? A.It is very difficult for them to learn this skill. B.It gets them more uncomfortable to use computers. C.Learning code will cost them a large sum of money. D.Kids find it will have less fun playing computer games. 2、The robot called Root helps kids to______.
A.change kids' study attitudes B.move icons around more easily C.greatly improve kids' test marks D.feel at ease when learning to code 3、What do we know about the robot?
A.It teaches kids to code. B.It is used to design programs. C.It makes “Angry Birds” popular. D.It helps kids to break codes.
23.(8分) Barcelona's famous Segrada Familia is finally set to get a building licence, 137 years after work on the still uncompleted church began.
Construction on the UNESCO World Heritage basilica(长方形基督教堂), which is Barcelona's most
visited tourist attraction, began in 1882 based on a design by architect Francisco Lozano. However, when he stepped down, architect Antoni Gaudi took over the design in 1883. The building won't be finished until 2026-one hundred years after the architect was killed by a streetcar in the city. His body was buried in a room under the floor of the Sagrada Familia.
To get its paperwork rubber stamped, the church authorities have agreed to finally pay the
government a∈36 million fee for a building permit. Gaudi was told to get the paperwork processed, but the architect failed to do so—proceeding with construction regardless. The money from the church's permit will be used to upgrade transport links and beautify the area. Gaudi and his works have become symbols of Barcelona, the capital city of Catalonia, northeast Spain.
Gaudi played an active role in directing the construction of the Sagrada Familia until his death in 1926. He would often request that work be modified and adjusted until it was exactly what he had in mind. However, interpretation of the designs by present day architects is particularly challenging because of the nature of the existing designs.
The unfinished building is called a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and it is perhaps the most unique and mysterious building in the style ever constructed. The popularity of the site with tourists has helped fund the push to complete the church and pay for the paperwork. 1、What do we know about the Segrada Familia? A.It has been completely constructed. B.It was first designed by Antoni Gaudi. C.It will get a building permit in 2026. D.It began to be built 137 years ago. 2、What can we infer about Antoni Gaudi? A.He wished to be buried in the church B.He is remembered as a great architect. C.He didn't know a permit was necessary. D.He is to blame for the unfinished church. 3、What makes the Segrada Familia so popular? A.Its unusual design style B.Its two famous architects. C.Its special building materials. D.Its illegal construction paperwork
4、The church managed to pay for the licence ________. A.in the support of the government
