We have two hands. One is on the left, the other is on the right.
The others表示”余下的”范围内的另一些（范围总数通常多于两个个）后面不能加名词 There are 40 students in our class, three are American, the others are Chinese.
another另外的一个（有任意性）后面加可数名词单数,也可以不加名词直接使用。 I have eaten an apple, but I still want another(apple).
other后既可接可数名词复数形式又可接不可数名词，如：可数，other pencils其它的铅笔，other students其他的学生。不可数other tea别的/其它的茶，other information别的/其它消息。 other可以作形容词用，后面可以跟单数或复数名词，意思是“其他的、别的”。 ① Where are his other books? ② I haven't any other books except this one. 3）other作代词用时，可以有复数“others”，泛指“另外的人或物”。常与some搭配构成“some ....,
others ...”句型。
① Some went to the cinema, others went swimming. ② This coat is too large. Show me some others, please. 6）another也可以作代词用，表示“另一个”。
① I'm still hungry after I've had this cake. Please give me another.
another +数词＋名词＝数词+more +名词，表示“再……”“另外……”。如： I want to buy another two books. =I want to buy two more books. Some…some…others…表示“一些，一些，另一些。” the other “其余的”
