Step I Class Opening (5 minutes) 1. Greeting

T: Good morning, class! How are you today?

Ss: Good morning, Miss An! Fine, thank you. And you? T: I’m fine, too. 2. Free Talk

T: What’s the date today? S1:It’s April 7. T: What day is it today?

S2: It’s Monday.

T: Look out of the window. What’s the weather like today? S3: It’s sunny.

Sing a song: I like to play outdoors. Ask and Answer:

T: What activities do you usually do after school?

(The teacher presents the pictures to help students to answer the question.) T: What are you going to do after school? S1: I’m going to watch TV. S2: I’m going to play basketball. ...

The teacher writes “be going to ” on the blackboard, and lets students answer the questions with the help of pictures on the PPT. Help students to know how to use “be going to”. 2. New words

T: Before we know about what happens to Jim, let’s learn some new words. The teacher lets students read the new words and give them time to recite. 3. Listen and answer

T: Jim wants to invite Steven to have a dinner at his home, so he asks Steven some question about his plans after school. Now listen and fill in the blanks. 4. Future study of the text

T: Read the text by yourselves, please, and try to finish Exercise 2 on Page 51. Then get the information about Steven’s calendar. Ask for help if necessary. 5. Language points

T: There are two sentences. Can you tell me the ways to use practice?

Ss:作名词,意为“练习”,常用作不可数名词。作动词,意为“练习”,后跟名词或动词-ing形式。

Step III Group Work (5 minutes)

Work in pairs. What are you going to do after school this week? Make up a dialogue. A: what are you going to do after school on Wednesday?

B: I’m going to see a movie with my friends. What are you going to do on...? A: I’m going to ... Step IV Practice (8 minutes)

The teacher shows the exercise on the PPT

Students do the exercises and check with the help of the teacher. Step V Class Closing (2 minutes) Let’s see our homework for today. (1) Read the text

(2) Review the key points in this lesson (3) Finish off the exercises in Activity Book Preview the next lesson
