W:Yang Nianhui, a 15-year-old high school student in Beijing, has caused a lively discussion among Chinese social media users after she wrote and published her first novel, The Vampire of Lorania, in English. “I have spent over 5 years on the book’s creation, and it’s a story discussing the definition of heroes from the angle of a teenager,” said Yang. In her 60,000-word long novel, Yang presents a magical land named Lorania for the readers, where the residents are vampires, the creatures which live off human blood and therefore can live forever.
