1. T: Hello, everyone. How is the weather today? Ss : It’s ?.

2. Ss enjoy some pictures about some big cities with beautiful places of interest.

3. Let the Ss talk about the pictures. Step2.Presentation

1. T point out the picture of The Great Wall and ask them whether they have been there, if somebody says yes, let he or she talk about it.

2. Teach Ss to read the word. 3. Work in pairs to practice it.

4. Show their readings pair by pair.

5. Teach the other five words with the same way. Step3.Practice

1. Show the map of 3b and lead Ss to look and learn the places in it.

2.Use the map to teach Ss to ask way with the sentences: Excuse me, how can we get to ?from here? take the first left/take the second left/take the third left

3. Change the positions of the person in the map to let Ss ask and answer.

4. Ss read 3a by themselves and take notes of the important places in 3b.

5. T plays the radio; Ss listen and finish the tick exercise in 3b.

6. T checks the answers and explains the reason. Step3.Presentation2

1. T shows the picture in PPT to introduce some information about the New York City.

2. Ss look at the picture and talk about something with the help of T.

3. Ss try to read the five questions and write the answers. 4. T explains each question, especially the difficult points. 5. Ss do the quiz again.
