By Aichun Luan Materials: five classic English poems

Language focus: reading for appreciating and writing Learning aims: After this period, students will be able to: 1. know about rhyme and rhythm of English poems; 2. appreciate the beauty and feelings hidden in the poetry; 3.develop the interest in English poetry; 4. try writing a poem of their own. Prior knowledge:

Students read the five poems and finish the pre-class tasks given to them. They get the meanings of the new words and expressions by referring to the wordlist and dictionaries. Brief life stories of three famous poets are provided to support their understanding. Students are encouraged to use any resources including the Internet when teaching themselves. Learning difficulties and importance:

1. The understanding of rhyme and rhythm 2. Interpretation and creation of poems Teaching methods:

1. Based on automatic learning and flipped teaching. 2. Cooperative learning;
