1. 了解宇宙科学、地球生命的起源，了解万有引力、黑洞和太空旅行等天文学知识，培养学生对科学的兴趣，激发学生探究科学的热情。

二、学习重点：能运用skimming and scanning阅读技巧回答问题。

三、自学导引：

1. 同学们需要运用手上的资料和工具去查询和了解宇宙科学、地球生命的起源、万有

引力、黑洞和太空旅行等天文学知识。 2. 请同学们查阅并标注课文中不懂的单词。

3、请同学们完成《金版学案》P43课文内容知识的跟踪练习 四、自学检测：

1. 请同学们完成《金版学案》P42课文语篇理解的Task2-Task4。 2、把阅读中出现的重点句型或难懂的句子划上线，然后在课后熟读。 1）What it was to become was uncertain until between 4.5 and 3.8 billion years ago when the dust settled into a solid globe.

2）The earth became so violent that it was not clear whether the shape would last or not.

3）It was not immediately obvious that water was to be fundamental to the development of life.

4）They multiplied and filled the oceans and seas with oxygen , which encouraged the later development early shellfish and all sorts of fish.

5）So whether life will continue on the earth for millions of years to come will depend on whether this problem can be solved.
