Unit 8 Is there a post office near here?第一课时教案教师:李梅

【教材分析】

本单元的中心话题是通过运用一些方位介词来询问某一场所的位置,主要内容都是围绕问路、指路的一些语言项目展开的,例如:Where引导的特殊疑问句和Is there…?句型等。

该话题与学生的日常生活紧密联系在一起,容易唤起学生的学习兴趣,这对于提高学生的综合能力很有帮助,特别是说的能力。通过本单元的学习,学生不仅要进一步掌握方位介词的用法和一些建筑物的名称,并用要学会阐述某一场所中各个建筑物之间的位置关系;同时能够利用地图向他人介绍自己所居住的社区,并能够识别简单的路线图。并培养学生在实际生活中辨别方向的能力,养成热心助人的确品质。

【教学目标】

知识目标:

1.词汇:重点掌握表示建筑物种类的名词、描绘性形容词及方位副词、方位介词post,

office,restaurant,library,bank,park,pay,street,near,across,between,front,behind,there,excuse,neighborhood, straight, turn, left, right, down, open, enjoy, walk, through, pass, yours

2.词组:post office, pay phone, across from, in front of 3.重点句型

1)Is there a bank near here (in the neighborhood)? --Yes, there is. It’s on Center Street./No, there isn’t.

2)Where’s the supermarket?--It’s across from the post office. 3)Go straight down New Street and turn right.

4)Turn left at Bridge Street. 5)There’s a pay phone on your left. 能力目标:

1、能看着图片说话出建筑物的名称;

2、能运用一般现在时询问街道上某一场所的位置; 3、能够运用所学语言为他人指明某一场所的路线; 4、能够描述某一场所各建筑物之间的位置关系; 5、能够利用地图向他人介绍自己所居住的社区; 情感目标:

通过学习本单元的内容,使学生在实际生活中能够识别方向,养成乐于助人的好习惯,培养学生的合作精神,教会学生礼貌待人,建立和睦的邻里关系。。

【教学重点】

1.学习掌握表示方位的介词词汇以及一些建筑物的名称,如acrossform,behind,between,infront of , left ,right, near , park , pay phone, restaurant, supermarket.

2.掌握一些关于问路、指路方面的句子以及回答,如Where is…?Is there a…?

【教学难点】

1.正确理解:across form, next to , between, on , near, along , straight 2.运用所学的句型和方位介词为他人指明某一场所的路线,设计自己理想的居住环境。

【学习策略】

1、利用老师所提供的图片做出简单的判断,学习相关方位介词以及描绘性形容词。

2、通过与同学交流,学会使用问路指路,对地点特征做出简单描述的句型。

1.Direct Ss’attention to the picture on the screenand ask Ss “What’s this?”,present the names ofthe places on the board.

2.Give plenty of opportunity for both choral and individual repetition of the new words.

【辨析】in the front of “在……前面”(在某范围之内) There is a table in the front of the classroom. 3. next to意为“紧靠着;紧挨着;贴近” The little boy is next to his mother. 【辨析】next to与near的区别

从空间讲near只表示“在……附近”;而nextto有“紧挨着”之意;nextto比near靠的更近。

Peter sits next to Mike.彼特紧挨着迈克坐。 Peter sits near Tom.彼特坐在汤姆附近。

4. Is there a bank around here?这附近有银行吗?Yes, there is.是的,有。 Therebe ...句型表示的是“某处有(存在)某人或某物”,其结构为Therebe(is,are,was,were)+名词+地点状语。例如:

There are fifty-two students in our class. There is a pencil in my pencil-case.

There be句型否定句式的构成和含有be动词的其它句型一样,在be后加上“not”。也可用“no”来表示。即:

no +n.(名词)= not a\\an\\any +n.(名词) There is an orange in her bag. →There isn’t an orange in her bag. →There is no orange in her bag.

There be结构的一般疑问句变化只需把be动词移到句首,再在句尾加上问号即可。例如:There is some money in her handbag.

→Is there any money in her handbag?

(疑问句和否定句中,some改为any, something改为anything.) There is something new in today’s newspaper. →There isn’t anything new in today’s newspaper. →Is there anything new in today’s newspaper? Step 12 Practice:
