With the swift development of the Internet, we can see online shopping has become a new trend in our daily life.
There are several factors behind this phenomenon. First of all, it is very convenient for people to purchase what they want or like with the Internet easily accessible via computers or cellphones. The picture shows us a dialogue between a father and his son. The father asks his son to empty the dustbin. The son is worrying about disposing of nuclear waste. It reveals the importance of doing small things well before undertaking something big.
Undoubtedly, doing small things is the first step to success and will contribute to doing something big in future. By doing something small, we are able to accumulate experience, master skills and train ourselves to be more patient. In other words, we can be well prepared for further challenges in the course of fulfilling small things. By contrast, those who set out to do something big when too young will be constantly troubled by disappointment, frustrations or even failures. When “something big” really appears, they can hardly deal with them because of the lack of experience and confidence which comes from doing small things.
In my opinion, under no circumstances should we underestimate the value of doing small things. Instead, we should regard small things as the source of experience, skills and patience. Just as Aristotle once said, “Great achievement only belongs to those who an do small things perfectly.”
