The Great Wall of China runs from the east to the west in the north of China. It has a history of over two thousand years. People built several walls in the 7th century BC. Those were later joined together and

The Great Wall is wide enough for about ten men to walk side by side. Horses can also run on it. The Great Wall is made of stones, bricks(砖), wood and other materials . There are huge stones on each side and on the highest part. There are tall watchtowers along the GreatWall. In the past, the soldiers kept watching the enemies in the watchtowers day and night. When the enemies came, they made fire there to tell each other.
