Discovering the Hall of Mental Cultivation Location: The Gate of the Correct Department (Duan men) The exhibition allows visitors new ways to explore the history of the Forbidden City with a simple click and celebrates the 93 anniversary of the Palace Museum, established on October 10， 1925. Adding to the Museum’s new displays, this exhibition combines traditional Chinese culture and contemporary technologies.
Kulangsu Gallery of Foreign Artefacts from the Palace Museum Collection Location: Kulangsu, Xiamen, Fujian
The gallery is a major place for the Palace Museum to showcase its splendid collection of international art. Most of these works have been kept in the storehouse of the Museum and have never been shown to the public. Originally from Europe, East Asia, and North America, these international works date from the sixteenth to the twentieth century.

It was about seven years ago. I had just picked up my three-year-old daughter from nursery. I was weighed down with shopping, and with my daughter’s things. We arrived at a pedestrian crossing and she pressed the button. In the distance, I heard alarms, told my daughter to wait and watched the police car approach.
Little did I know, as the green man flashed, that my daughter had begun to run into the road. I watched the police car speed towards us that’ s when you sounded your horn (喇叭）and waved wildly to me. My daughter was about a metre from the path of the police car, hidden from their view by your car.
I screamed her name and ran towards her. She stopped and was shocked by the rush of the police car as it sped past. She wondered why you had blown your horn, asking, “Why was that woman so rude?”，not realising that you had saved her life.
