Under short-circuit conditions, the output current is typ-ically limited to 150mA. This is low enough that a shortto ground of any duration will not cause permanentdamage to the chip. However, a short to either supplywill create double the allowable power dissipation andmay cause permanent damage if allowed to exist forlonger than approximately 10 seconds.
