There was a small town near a mountain. People there loved their town very much. And they grew many plants on the mountain. Water in the rivers there was very clear. There were many fish in them. And the air was clean. People there lived a simple life, but they were very happy.
After a few years, some people in the town started to cut down the plants to sell for money, but they didn’t grow new plants. There were some people from cities coming to visit the town. People began to get some animals as food to treat (款待) the visitors. Of course, they made lots of money. But nobody realized (意识到) what the town would be like in the future.
As time went on, there were fewer plants and animals. The water became dirty. The visitors were fewer and fewer. After a few years, people there knew they must stop destroying (破坏) nature.
