Zhang,Delu,N ew developments in systemic f unctional linguistics

The article focuses on the latest developments in systemic functional linguistics since the80s of the20century.Firstly,there arises the new conception of register,changing from a semantic concept to a situational concept.Secondly,the concept genre changes from part of mode of discourse to a semantic configuration,a kind of ideology,a social norm,and etc.Thirdly,on the basis of the grammatical appraisal system,such as modality,there has developed the lexical appraisal system.Fourthly,the study of the relationship between language and society has given impetus to critical linguistics and critical discourse analysis.Fifthly,the concept of text cohesion has developed to a kind of multi2meaning,multi2level,and external device.Finally there emerges computational linguistics based on systemic functional linguistics.

Liao,Meizhen,A review of study of forensic linguistics abroad

This paper is a review of forensic linguistics abroad with emphasis on the period after1970s and on countries where the Anglo2American law system is practiced.The examination is organized around three perspectives,viz.study of language as object,as process,and as instrument,which also characterize the process of forensic linguistics abroad or represent three stages in the development of the discipline.

This study,benefiting from existing researches,proposes an adaptation model of codeswitching. It is argued that codeswitching is the realization of communicatorsπmaking adaptation. Adaptation is made in terms of linguistic factors,social conventions,and psychological motivations.The present research draws particular attention to pragmatic approach to codeswitching.
