look at its advantages and disadvantages before drawing the final conclusion.

The biggest advantage of an electronic dictionary is its convenience. Whenever you meet new words or

expressions , you can know the meaning quickly. What’s more, with the development of science and technology, electronic dictionaries are becoming more and more advanced: they can pronounce the words clearly and provide sample sentences to illustrate word usage and store difficult words for special memorization. Last but by no means the least, electronic dictionaries are becoming cheaper and cheaper , and more and more students can afford them .

However, the negative effects are also obvious. To begin with, some students rely too much on the

electronic dictionary—they never put their hearts into learning new words expressions. In the second place, some explanations are neither complete nor accurate, which are quite misleading. Finally, new technical inventions do not necessarily lead to progress in learning. Diligence is always the decisive factor, because ―there is no royal road to learning‖.

The Two-Day Weekend

The two-day weekend has brought a lot of benefits to college students ever since the beginning.

First, it gives students time to digest what has been taught in class and gain a better mastery of professional knowledge and skills. Second , students can also conduct experiments and participate in social activities to combine knowledge with practice. Thirdly, they can also take part in sports to strengthen their bodies or take a rest to prepare for the coming week .

Though it does good to college students in many ways , the two-day weekend can never be said to bring no problem . For one thing , too many lectures crowd into the weekdays ,and students can hardly keep pace with them . 应用文写作

应用文的一个最大特点是具有固定的格式和管用的语句，考生必须遵循一定的书写格式和行文方法 【1】 书信的写作 称呼：【salutation】

称呼一般靠左边顶格自成一行。称呼后面美国人习惯加冒号，英国人习惯加逗号，两种写法都可以如：Dear Professor，： 最常用的称呼是：Dear +(头衔)+姓或名：如：Dear Mr. President
